Top 3 Tips to FALL Back into Your Healthy Routine

Members of Orangetheory Fitness, coming soon to Hudson, are gearing up for a busy fall with these helpful tips for managing a fit, healthy lifestyle.

From the smell of sunscreen to the sounds of kids laughing as they splash in the water, summer has left us with some pretty sweet memories.

Now that we’re getting back into our busy routines this fall, that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop—and we can’t wait to add Orangetheory Fitness into the mix when we open our new studio here in Hudson.

Here we share 3 awesome tips to help with a smooth, effective transition from lazy summer Sundays to a fast and furious fall.

     1.      Schedule and Track

Let’s face it. Fall is busy.

Maybe you’re a parent—coordinating your kids’ school, extracurricular, and social lives (not to mention your own).

Or a college student—juggling two majors, a leadership position in a community service organization, and the hottest events on campus.

Or a savvy office professional—getting your company ready for an influx in business and sales during the most demanding quarter of the year.

This fall, scheduling and tracking will be your best friends.

Setting certain days and times for your to-do’s will help you make them to-done’s. And while you’re in your calendar making those plans, don’t forget to schedule yourself some ME TIME. Time to read a book. Time to go out with the girls. Time for your Orangetheory Fitness session once we open our brand new studio here in Hudson.

The busier you are, the less it feels like you have time for the things you love. But when you’re that busy, it’s more important than ever to take time for you!

When time is at a premium, you want to make sure you’re spending it as effectively as possible—and that’s where tracking comes in. One of our favorite things about the Orangetheory Fitness workout is that it shows results in real-time. Members strap into their heart-rate monitors and go all out to earn “splat points,” earning one splat point for every minute they spend in their target heart-rate “Orange Zone.” By racking up enough splat points, Orangetheory members achieve the “afterburn” effect, meaning they keep burning calories for up to 36 hours after their 60-minute workout.

     2.      Set Goals to Burn For

With fall in full effect, it probably feels like there’s barely time to even think let alone accomplish everything that needs to get done! But a few minutes to reflect can seriously help make sure you’re racing forward in the right direction.

It seems like just yesterday we were thinking about our New Year’s Resolutions for 2017. What goals did you set? What progress have you made? Were there any setbacks? Has anything changed?

If you’re like the rest of us, summer probably got you a little off track. Go ahead, blame it on the beachside mojitos—you’re allowed to enjoy yourself! But now that we’re all back from vacay and back to the real world, this is the perfect opportunity to reassess.

Start thinking about realistic goals you want to start achieving now that summer’s over. Start thinking about the fitness goals you’ll burn for when we open Orangetheory Fitness in Hudson, Ohio. And don’t wait for 2018. Start taking steps to get there! Sign up now instead of putting it off one more day. Start eating a little healthier each day. Take on other healthy habits like getting to bed on time and eating breakfast each day. Finish the year strong and get ready to start your new year as a fitter, healthier, happier version of you.

Here’s a fun fitness goal members of Orangetheory Fitness are taking on this October (and something we have to look forward to!): completing Hell Week.

     3.      Make it a Team Effort

Take a deep breath. We know—it seems like a lot. A lot to think about, a lot to keep track of, and lot to get done.

But here’s the best part of it all: you’re not alone.

The amazing Fit Fam we’re building at OTF Hudson will support each other, and not just when it comes to our fitness goals. From our members to our trainers and staff, we’re going to be making some amazing friends here. There will always someone to talk to, always a helping hand, and always a shoulder to lean on.

Don’t hold it in. When we open our new studio and start burning together, open up and let us know what you’re burning for and what your biggest challenges and fears are. Sharing our goals helps keep us accountable. And you’ll be surprised how sharing your fears can suddenly make them feel way less scary.

Orangetheory members may get competitive with those splat stats to see who can really push themselves during the workout—but that helps keep it fun! When it comes to the livelihood and well-being of our future Fit Fam here at Orangetheory Fitness Hudson, there will be no judgment and a whole lot of support.
